SAD NEWS: St. Louis Cardinals Two-time World Series Champion Confirmed Dead

A multi-sport star at CBC Secondary School in St. Louis, Thomas Michael “Mike” Shannon stays the main competitor ever to be named the Missouri Secondary School Player of the Year for both football and b-ball around the same time. He received interest to play quarterback at the University of Missouri, but he dropped out in 1958 to sign a contract with the Cardinals for professional baseball.

Shannon spent his whole major association playing profession with St. Louis from 1962 to 1970 and was a double cross boss as an individual from the 1964 and 1967 Cardinals. However Shannon’s playing profession finished rashly because of kidney illness, his days as a significant piece of the Cardinal family were simply beginning. Shannon joined Jack Buck in the Cardinals radio station corner for the 1972 season.

For the people who weren’t around to see his playing days, the “Moon Man” became known to ages of Cardinals fans for his rich style on the air. After 50 years as the Cardinals’ voice, Shannon stepped down from the KMOX broadcast.
