Leeds Rhinos hooker reveals why he joined Wigan Warriors after just one phone call ahead of 2024

Leeming is back in the northern hemisphere, signing a four-year contract with Wigan after leaving Leeds midway through the 2023 Super League season to play for Gold Coast Titans in the NRL.

The Eswatini-born hooker was wanted by other teams, but Leeming has said that Peet was the driving force behind him signing.
“I was at Leeds last year, went to Gold Coast and spent the greater part of the time there. It was a great encounter once more. I had a Zoom call with Matty Peet and I was talking with a couple of different clubs at that point and it a was a truly noteworthy call frankly,” Leeming told Wigan television.

“His standards and values align with mine, making him an impressive individual. Subsequent to getting off the call, I talked with Iestyn (Harris) – my representative – and said I needed to sign immediately.

“That is demonstration of the staff that is here and the individual that Matty is – it was only one call takes pursuing my choice. I cannot wait to get started and gain a lot of knowledge. I’m currently at the phase of my profession where I’m learning, I need to learn and improve.”

Leeming will rival Brad O’Neill for the prostitute’s spot at Wigan in 2024, while number nine Sam Powell is currently at Warrington Wolves.
