Cincinnati Bengals Superstar Claims That His Team is “Built to Beat the Chiefs” in Huge 2024 Podcast.

I have speculated over the past few days that the appearances of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. on the New Heights podcast would be intense.  After all, Burrow’s Bengals and podcast host Travis Kelce‘s Kansas City Chiefs have been bitter rivals for the past three seasons.  The combined energy of these three players was enough to trigger entire fanbases around the NFL.

Well after his appearance on the podcast on Thursday afternoon at Nippert Stadium, Burrow leaves no doubt as to how much of his signature confidence he wants to throw at his opposition.  Even after back-to-back Super Bowl victories for Kansas City, Burrow did not hesitate to tell arguably the best player on the Chiefs exactly what he thought.

Burrow would start with some epic headline material to start the podcast when he said that Cincinnati “was kind of built to beat the Chiefs.” He would go onto praise his opposition with a little bit more of his characteristically political stance.  “Both teams have great players,” Burrow said. “I always like the legendary matches we have.”

While it may be a hot take against the best team in the NFL over the past five seasons, Burrow has an argument: During his career, Burrow is 3-1 against Kansas City.  That one loss came on a last-minute field goal during the 2023 AFC Championship game with some questionable officiating going in the direction of Kansas City, Aside from that, the LSU product is undefeated against Kelce and superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

There is little argument that Cincinnati will be a much-improved team next season with Burrow’s presumed return to health.  Burrow tore a ligament in his wrist in Week 11 last season against the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati didn’t have a realistic chance at the playoffs after that happened.  The team managed a legitimate push under the reigns of backup quarterback Jake Browning but there is no doubt as to what Burrow can bring to the table.

With Burrow’s return to health, it is assumed that these two teams will once again be duking it out for the AFC crown at some point in the playoffs next season.  Even with a supercharged AFC North, Cincinnati is one of the best teams in the NFL with Burrow at the helm.  While Kansas City is without a doubt the best team in football at the moment, let’s just hope that Burrow’s infectious energy can jumpstart Cincinnati to their first-ever Super Bowl in 2024.
